Until few months back, I am big fan of tags and tag cloud. Few months back started using google webmaster tools.
Then I realized that usage of tags causing problem with google. Google requesting all webmaster to avoid duplicate data.
As per Google “Don’t point same data with different urls”. Blog based websites it is very common ( tags,category,archive…points to same post but with different urls.)
For example you wrote one with permlink abc.com/mypost/ with data “sample post” and tag with “zyz”
now http://abc.com/mypost/ point to data “sample post” and http://abc.com/tag/zyz also pointing to same text “sample data”
Still I am using tags but stopped Google from following them using robot.txt and robometa plugin.
