Since college days, I am big fan of on line save and sync applications. But those days only service I used was Yahoo ‘notes’ and there is no online office software concept . Past few years Google Docs changed the scene of desktop office products.
Cloud computing and AJAX fulfilled of my long time desire ‘online auto save/sync’ note taking software. Now you can see n number of application which they can do auto save on line.
Evernote ( http://Evernote.com ) is the application was introduced by friend to me and became big FAN of it after few weeks usage.
Things I like:
Can access any where, from any net enabled device.
Free to use. No functionality restriction free users.
Not only note, you can save anything that you see on internet 
.
.You can create categories of your notes .
Good search function.
You can post your notes directly from twitter to Evernote. !! Cool!!!.
Mail 2 notes option.
Example : How person who have his own blog can use Evernote as productivity tool?
He can create multiple categories for his posts / drafs / raw ideas.
From raw ideas, he can produce basic draft version then make it as complete post.

We love Evernote too! It’s a great capture device. Not so sure about the organization functionality though. The tags and notebooks are OK but we’ve struggled when there’s a TON of info in there. Search is sometimes not so great. You should check out Simplenote – totally different. They emphasize minimalism but could work for ppl. We decided to make our own note taking software after trying a couple and leaving unhappy. Would love your thoughts on it!
