how to learn Oracle ? by system administrator

Sun,Oracle merger tripped my out dated skill alarm. Its time to learn Oracle.Now I want to add Db skills along my web and system administrations skills. In general I hate DB administration as like many system admins ( due to sql ? ) . But now every where,every thing based on database. now every system admin should know about oracle and database concepts. I will update our site with my Oracle tutorials while learning.

Today I saw following ad. Sun,Oracle combined ad pointing to IBM. I hope by Sept-4th, Sun and Oracle deal will close. Well known fact that Oracle performence is more on SUN hardware comparing to remaing Operating systems. Already 70% market captured by Oracle in Database sector and now it is having Own Operating system,own hardware.

So Oracle can provide A-Z solution to end users or customers.

Solaris cdrom Can't read disk label. Can't open disk label package fix

Recently i tried to install latest Solaris SPARC build using DVD written by nero on my laptop.. Bingo !!! no use – boot cdrom command always showed

Can’t read disk label. Can’t open disk label package . Did all kind of troubleshooting and wasted 4 DVDS. Later i used alcohol 120% – thats it worked. www.alcohol-soft.com/

So burn your Sparc ISO image on your x86 laptop/system using alcohol 120% burning software. It will work.

Sun Solairs operating system ( http://sun.com soon http://oracle.com ) is the best UNIX operating systems . I would to preset some tutorials in sequence in newbie point of view. That means from where we need to start, what you need to learn ..etc.. Hope this project will going to help Jr system administrators.
